"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!

I ended up in some random persons gallery and looking at their favorites, it was all Mary-Sue Invader Zim and old Disney TV Show characters. All I could think of was "Oh my god people are so fucking weird," If you are 8, this behavior is okay and healthy and creative and stuff, but if you are 17, and drawing high quality pictures of it, you are fucking weird. Even if you want to just pretend in your head that the cartoon duck version of you is having sex with Darkwing Duck, you know what, that's okay, IN YOUR HEAD. I'll even say that secretly drawing pictures of it is okay, but once you go "WOW! The internet needs to see this!" Yeah, that's not okay.
